You are looking at an old-fashioned candlestick phone. It is intact with what appears to be the original "cloth" wire connecting ear piece to the base. Bakelite (I believe) transmitter mouthpiece. Well made new reproduction part with fine, vs course, threads. The fine threaded transmitter is encountered most often. This may help someone out on their old telephone project. Threads could possibly be built up with tape to fit a course threaded transmitter opening, not sure.

This is fresh from an estate sale!
This vintage candlestick telephone is marked Automatic Electric Co and the Bell Box in Northern Electric model N43 AB. Dovetailed corners on the box. Someone has hooked the ringer box up with modern wall jack. Tested it, bells ring. However, the earpiece is not connected to it yet. The original cords still are hanging from earpiece and phone.

Lightly used and in working order. There is some light rust to the rocker arm. It looks like it was cleaned with steel wool (see last photo).
